The first time creating a lesson plan with standards is not easy, and that is why it’s important to review them prior to setting goals, the standards can even inspire projects to meet the requirement. Standards also help validate that students and teachers are heading down the right path. Recent technological advances have affected many areas of our lives, including the way we communicate, collaborate, learn, and, of course, teach. Those advances necessitate an expansion of our vocabulary, producing definitions such as digital natives, digital immigrants, and 21st century educators (Palmer, 2015). As 21st century educators we must equip our students with the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
